Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team Chittagong Kings unveiled their team logo and introduced the team management to the press through a ceremony held in Dhaka on Friday.
The port-city franchise CEO Samir Qader Chowdhury, head-coach Khaled Mahmud and team manager Nasir Ahmed were present on the unveiling occasion.
Samir on the occasion said, “I hope the Chittagonians will hold the Chittagong Kings logo close to their hearts and support us throughout the tournament.’
He hoped Chittagong Kings would play a positive role in the development of the country’s second largest city and the region.
After unveiling the logo a showcase of an audio visual was presented.
Model and new presenter Farhana Nisho conducted the programme, attended by host of dignitaries.
It was announced in the press conference that national-vice captain Mahmudullah will lead Chittagong Kings in the inaugural edition of the BPL. It was further announced that former Australian batsmen Dean Jones and Michael Bevan will join Chittagong Kings soon as technical director and batting coach respectively.
However, Chittagong’s icon player Tamim Iqbal and skipper Mahmudullah was absent from the logo unveiling ceremony.
“Mahmudullah had his Dhaka Premier League matches today and Tamim has his match tomorrow,” said King’s CEO as the reason for their absence.
