The singers from India and Bangladesh enthralled the spectators with their melodious songs at a packed concert organised at the Laboni Point sea beach here to create hype for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League on Friday.
The concert started at 4pm with the songs of the local singers and ended around 9 pm with the song of Indian singers. With some local singers, Bangladesh rock sensation James, Close-Up stars Rinku, Nishitha, Shera Kontho stars Imran and Nirbachita enchanted the enthusiastic spectators by their songs. Illustrious Bollywood singer Sreya Ghoshal was the focal-point of all the audiences in the concert. She sang some popular songs in recent times. Indian Idol Amit Pal presented duel with Sreya.
The governing body of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) organized the concert as the part of the promotion of the BPL Twenty20 tournament.
The Channel-9 broadcast the live programme of the concert from Cox’s Bazar.
Before the concert, the beach cleaning and social awareness programme demanding ‘safe and clean sea beach’ and a human chain was formed to create mass awareness among the people in the morning also at the Laboni Point. North Alpine Club organised the show as part of the event’s corporate social responsibility activity. A huge number of tourists, students and locals participated in the programme. Salem Md. Jahangir, police super of Cox’s Bazar, Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, chairman of BPL governing body and director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, former national team captains Habibul Bashar Sumon and Farque Ahmed were also present.
